Surely this photo was taken in the rugged Southwest (Route 66?) to capture the pretty girl and car, but it the background is a string of AT&SF MOW cars. It looks hot and windy. Probably taken in the 1950s or early 1960s. The pre-air-conditioning days in the Southwest must have roasted many "gandy-dancers" in the cars. The silver/aluminum paint helped reflect the hot rays of the sun.
The ARM has quite a few MOW cars in the collection. Most are Pecos River brass models and are eye-catchers. Next time you are at the museum, look for MOW cars in the siding at a town.

Can anyone identify the car?
