Each car is throughly researched to be an accurate model of the prototype, down to the right number of rivets (for you rivet-counters out there!). Payment Methods:
We accept PayPal. You can pay with PayPal by going to the PayPal website (www.paypal.com) and entering amarillorail@aol.com as the account where you want to send the payment.
We accept Discover, Master Card, and Visa. The checkout procedure will ask for your credit card number and expiration date.
We accept checks and money orders. They must be sent to the Amarillo Railroad Museum P. O. Box 31105, Amarillo, TX 79120. Shipments will not be made until the check clears.
We do not accept cash. Please do not send cash in the mail.
Shipping:
We use USPS Priority Mail exclusively for our shipments. The order process will calculate shipping when you go to checkout. The software has to know how many cars you are shipping and the address before shipping can be assessed, so even if you are going to mail us a check, please complete the checkout process. Some have reported that shipping isn’t calculated in the checkout process, but hundreds of others have had no problem. Please complete the checkout process.
Foreign orders are no different than U. S. orders, and we welcome them, but please do not ask us to commit fraud by under declaring the value of a shipment. We will not do that.
Texas residents must add sales tax (8.25%), and this is also calculated during checkout.
Returns:
Damaged items may be returned for a replacement if the model is still in stock. If an item is sold out, we will refund your payment.
Model railroad cars are fragile. We suggest you insure your order. Foreign shipments are automatically insured for the amount specified in the shipping waybill.
Damaged or Missing Parts: Occasionally you might receive a kit with a missing part, or an assembled car with damage. In almost all cases, going directly to the manufacturer is the easiest way to get a replacement part. For most of our runs we do not have any extra parts. If we are selling kits of a certain car, we have to sacrifice one in order to get extra parts. InterMountain, Red Caboose and Branchline all offer to replace missing and damaged parts free of charge, and all have toll-free numbers. Of course this does apply to damage done in shipping, in that case, contact us for a return.
One more important item, if you order a multiple car set, say five of our ART reefers, the drop down box will show "+119.79" This means it will add $119.79 to the base price for one car, in this case, $29.95, so the total will be $149.74.
This works for all cars offered in sets. Of course you can just order one, and then when you check out, change the number in the cart to whatever quantity you want.
