When we received our helium car from the U. S. Bureau of Mines, it arrived unexpectedly.  In fact, the car was delivered to the AT&SF yard in Amarillo and the yardmaster had no idea what he was supposed to do with it.  Thankfully, an ARM member noticed the car and made the proper inquires and the car was properly billed.  But that is only half the story.  It was billed to the ARM, but we had no way to get the car onto our tracks since there is no switch connecting our tracks to the BNSF.  Fortunately, a local pallet company near our property allowed us to store the car at the end of their siding for about two years.  They finally got tired of looking at it and asked that we move it.  A few months later, Jackie Messer Construction, doing some contract work for precision Rail in Amarillo, graciously moved the car from the pallet plant to our tracks.  The photos tell it all.
