The Amarillo Railroad Museum is cooperating with the Q-Connection (https://www.qconnection.biz/) for the second time in a custom car run to offer 20 each of three numbers of the C&S hoppers, and we in turn offer 20 each of three numbers of their CB&Q HT-10 version of the cars (170018, 170192, and 170249) built in 1948-1949, in mineral red with white lettering and solid bearings. In addition, the Q built ten of this type of hopper in 1949 as an experiment with roller bearings and painted them orange and black. The Q-Connection offers two road numbers 170494 and 170499 of these “experiments.” It could be that these ten cars lead to the C&S using Timken roller bearings in the 1961 hoppers we offer.
